ABOUT US

When the founder's of EJR Companies son asked who inspired him the most in his life he chose to describe his father.

My dad Eric Lubaczewski is living proof of a famous Michael Jordan quote: “If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out a way to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”  Michael Jordan’s story inspired millions. My father’s life story inspired few including me. They are both very different, yet very similar. They came from nothing, had many obstacles on their way to success and in the end achieved it all.

My father was born in a little town in Communist Poland. Despite high punishment from the Government’s ruling party for studying English, he would learn the language and dream of one day going to America and living the American dream. When he was 16 years old he was selected to go to Philadelphia for a summer program. With a hundred dollars in his pocket he arrived in the city of Brotherly Love. He understood that returning home after the summer would leave his dream in America, but he didn’t want to leave his dream in America so he knew he couldn’t go back.  When he decided to stay in the U.S. the walls and obstacles started to grow. He had very little money, no job, no family, and broken English were just a few of them. He was just like MJ, knowing that he has to “figure out a way to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”

After the summer passed he enrolled into GED program, got a job in a restaurant, and a job at the machine shop on the weekends. He studied at night, slept on a train, and slowly started finding ways to climb the walls. A few years went by and he started getting better at English, got a GED diploma, and become a manager at Houlihan’s restaurant. The walls were going back up when the idea of college was coming to his head. He needed more money, more study time, and better English.

The challenges were larger but he was getting better at overcoming them. He found a job with Nationwide Insurance, who then paid for his college education. Within 5 years he completed his degree and was admitted to Law School. A few years later with few diplomas in his hand a good job and 2k in his bank account, he decided to destroy the walls forever. He then became an entrepreneur. He started his own company. Today the company has offices in several states and employs many people.
